According to an announcement by the National Immigration Administration of China, starting from July 15, 2024, China will add 3 new ports that allow foreigners to transit visa-free for up to 144 hours. This expansion brings the total number of ports with visa-free transit policies to 37. This policy extension will provide greater convenience for foreign nationals traveling or doing business in China.

The three new ports include:
- Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport in Henan Province
- Lijiang Sanyi International Airport in Yunnan Province
- Mohan Railway Port in Yunnan Province
These ports will allow eligible foreign nationals to stay in China for up to 144 hours (6 days) without needing to apply for a visa in advance.
According to data released by China, in the first half of 2024, approximately 15 million foreigners entered China, an increase of over 150% compared to the same period last year. Among them, nearly 9 million entered through visa-free policies, representing an increase of nearly 200%.
The expansion of the visa-free policy is expected to further enhance China’s integration with the international community and attract more foreign tourists to China in the second half of 2024. This policy will not only help promote the development of the tourism industry but also facilitate business exchanges.
